Prefer 1-to-1 Training?

If group classes don’t suit your dog or your schedule, Chase Canines also offers 1-to-1 training for owners looking for more individual support.

Private training can cover many of the same foundation skills, including loose lead walking, recall, calmness, focus, dog handling and impulse control, but in a quieter and more personalised environment.

1-to-1 training may also be suitable for dogs who need additional support before joining a group environment.

Need A Private Space To Train?

Our Freedom Field is a private off-lead dog field for hire, giving dogs and owners a safe, secure space to train, play and build confidence.

It can be especially useful for dogs who need more space away from others, owners working on recall or outdoor training, multi-dog households, puppies beginning their socialisation journey, or anyone simply looking for a secure place for off-lead exercise.

The Freedom Field also occasionally hosts organised sessions such as puppy socials, play sessions and birthday celebrations, which run separately from standard private bookings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is group dog training and how does it work?

Group dog training is a structured class where dogs learn key obedience and life skills alongside other dogs and owners. Sessions are guided by a professional trainer and focus on real-world training challenges such as distractions, focus, and calm behaviour in social environments.

Chase Canines runs group dog training classes across Staffordshire, with venues in Cannock, Rugeley/Armitage and Brewood. Class types and availability vary between venues and training blocks.

Our group training programme may include puppy classes, adult foundation training, scentwork and other group training options. Bark N Bond members can also access additional member-only classes and activities.

Yes, many nervous dogs benefit from group dog training when the environment is managed correctly. A well-run dog training group class helps dogs build confidence gradually, while learning to stay calm around other dogs and people. However, dogs with significant reactivity or behavioural concerns may benefit from 1-to-1 support before joining a group class.

Group dog training focuses on real-world skills around distractions and social environments, while 1-to-1 training is more tailored to specific behavioural issues. Many owners find a combination of both provides the best long-term results.

If your dog is comfortable around people and able to focus for short periods, they may be ready to start group training. If your dog struggles significantly around other dogs or people, contact Chase Canines before booking so we can recommend the most suitable option.

Many owners begin to see improvements within the first few sessions, especially in focus and responsiveness. Consistency between classes is key. Regular practice at home combined with structured group dog training helps reinforce behaviours and create lasting progress.

You’ll typically need a standard lead or harness, plenty of small high-value treats, and a positive mindset. Your trainer may also recommend a mat or bed to help your dog settle during group dog training sessions.
